1 September Minimum wage reminder

Just like last year, the increase to award wages is happening in 3 stages.

REMINDER: The increase for the Retail Award applies from the first full pay period on or after 1 September 2021.

Depending on the award, there were 3 different start dates! 

Here is a recap of the different start dates:

We expect new pay guides will be published shortly before the operative date for each award. So keep an eye on your awards!

How to apply new pay rates in payroll?

Example: The increase for the Retail Award applies from the first full pay period on or after 1 September 2021. So ,if you have a weekly pay period that starts on Mondays, the new rates will apply from Monday 6 September 2021.
